Cong Regencia Commends Dole Push for Enhanced Labor Market Information System

Congressman Celso Gomera Regencia lauded the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for its proactive efforts in addressing skills gaps through the enhancement of labor market information systems (LMIS) amid ASEAN’s digital and green economic transitions.

The initiative was highlighted during the opening of a three-day LMIS workshop, where DOLE Undersecretary for Employment and Human Resource Development Cluster, Carmela Torres, emphasized the importance of robust labor market data in driving workforce policies across the ASEAN region.

The workshop, hosted by DOLE, convened ASEAN member states, international organizations, and development partners to bolster labor market intelligence and foster regional coordination. Key discussions centered on addressing skills mismatches, particularly in emerging industries, and leveraging technology to build adaptive labor markets.
